The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is seeking an operations intern to join our agile, fast-paced and innovative team. Interns will support daily office operations for SCET’s suite of academic, global, executive and research programs. SCET is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures.
Job Title: Student Assistant II, Operations Intern
Pay Rate: Starting at $18.07/hr
Work Hours: 5-10 hrs/week
# positions: 1
Start Date: June 17, 2024. (Considering interns to be available in Summer 2024, with continuation in the 2024-2025 academic year and potentially beyond depending on the students’ graduation plans and performance.)
Job Location: The work will likely be split between in-person in SCET’s office space located in Cal Memorial Stadium Room 122 and remote work.
Job Description: Operations interns will help with Center-wide operations. The students will be responsible for daily office operations, responding to email inquiries, purchase ordering, event planning, processing reimbursements, assembling materials for classes/programs, basic data input and analysis, and special projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a team and individually
- Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and flexibility
- Capacity to take the lead on projects and take initiative
- Administrative experience
- Organizational skills
- Customer service skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Google Suite (gmail, docs, sheets, slides, forms) and Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint)
- Ability to work with spreadsheets and perform basic data analysis
- Experience assisting with planning and executing events preferred
Eligibility: These positions are restricted to enrolled UC Berkeley students. International students can refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility. Students cannot be appointed in any combination of jobs over 100% FTE (40 hrs/week) at any given time at the University.
